New Delhi: Gold prices in India remained relatively stable across various cities on August 2, despite ongoing global economic developments that continue to influence the precious metal's outlook.

The retail market for gold is dominated by two popular purities: 24-karat and 22-karat. While 24-karat gold is considered pure, 22-karat gold remains a preferred choice for jewelry due to its improved strength and durability from added alloyed metals.

Cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Hyderabad, and Chennai saw no significant changes in prices. The current rates for 24-karat and 22-karat gold are ₹1,44,370 and ₹1,32,250 per 10 grams respectively in these cities.

The stability in retail prices is a result of market participants closely monitoring global economic indicators, expectations around US interest rates, and movements in major currencies. These factors are expected to influence the next direction of bullion prices.
