Indian Gold Prices Slide as International Markets Weaken
Gold prices continued to slide in India's bullion market on Sunday, despite being closed for the weekly holiday. Silver, however, managed a marginal gain.
The price of gold declined by as much as Rs 1,710 to Rs 1,870 per 10 grams across most markets, while silver rose by Rs 100 per kilogram.
As of Sunday, 24-carat gold was trading between Rs 1,54,800 and Rs 1,54,950 per 10 grams in various cities. Twenty-two carat gold was quoted between Rs 1,41,900 and Rs 1,42,050 per 10 grams.
In the past week, both gold and silver suffered losses due to sustained weakness in international markets. During this period, 24-carat gold fell by up to Rs 3,440 per 10 grams, while twenty-two carat gold declined by as much as Rs 3,150 per 10 grams.
