Indian Gold Prices Soar Amidst Global Market Volatility
Gold prices in India rose across major cities on July 27, with a notable increase of up to ₹90 per gram for 24-carat gold. The price now stands at approximately ₹14,196 per gram. For an 8-gram unit, the cost has risen by as much as ₹720, reaching ₹1,13,568.
The trend was observed in multiple cities, including Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Bengaluru, and Ahmedabad. 22-carat gold also saw a price hike, with a 1-gram increase of up to ₹85, touching ₹13,520, while an 8-gram unit appreciated by ₹680 to reach ₹1,08,160.
The domestic demand for gold plays a significant role in daily price movements. However, Indian gold prices are heavily influenced by international market dynamics and global spot gold prices. The exchange rate of the Indian rupee against the US dollar also affects local costs, with a weaker rupee making gold imports more expensive for retailers.
