Indian Gold Prices Surge Amid Global Economic Turmoil
Gold prices in India rose on Wednesday, September 16, marking a one-day increase for domestic buyers. The national price of fine 24-karat gold reached ₹1,53,440 for ten grams, up by ₹2,700 from the previous day. Standard 22-karat gold also climbed, reaching ₹1,40,650 for ten grams, while 18-karat gold rose to ₹1,15,080.
The increases followed gains on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) and shifting global indicators ahead of key international economic policy announcements. On a per-gram basis, 24-karat gold is priced at ₹15,344 today, representing a ₹27 rise over previous levels. Meanwhile, 22-karat gold stands at ₹14,065 per gram after a ₹25 increase.
Buyers in different Indian cities recorded minor price differences, with Delhi facing slightly higher rates for 24-karat and 22-karat gold. However, most major urban centres shared uniform rates across all three types of gold.
