Indian Gold Prices Surge on Strong Demand and Speculator Activity
New Delhi - Gold prices in India rose on Tuesday due to firm spot demand and fresh positions created by speculators. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, gold futures for October delivery traded higher by Rs 1,501, or 0.98 per cent, at Rs 1,54,600 per 10 grams.
The increase in gold prices was driven by participants building up new positions on a firm spot demand. Analysts pointed to this as the main reason behind the price rise.
Globally, gold futures increased 0.35 per cent to USD 4,406.15 per ounce in New York.
