Indian Housing Market Sees 1.1% Growth, IPOs See Strong Demand
India's housing market saw a 1.1% increase in prices sequentially in Q1 FY27, according to the Housing Price Index (HPI). The data shows that the housing sector is still growing, despite some fluctuations. In other economic news, several companies have reported strong demand for their IPOs, with Augmont Enterprises and Hy-Tech Engineers seeing subscriptions of 14.46 times and 7.74 times respectively on the first two days.
On the financial front, Airtel Payments Bank saw an 82% surge in Q1 net profit to Rs 19 crore, driven by digital payments growth. The Indian government has also announced plans to divest up to 6% equity in Hindustan Copper Ltd (HCL) through a share sale.
