Indian Markets Dip Amid Rising Oil Prices and Geopolitical Tensions

Markets in India traded lower on Wednesday due to rising crude oil prices and ongoing geopolitical tensions. The benchmark equity indices, Sensex and Nifty, dipped early in the day.

The 30-share BSE Sensex dropped 35.99 points to 78,097.31, while the 50-share NSE Nifty skidded 31.15 points to 24,444.55. Bharti Airtel, Mahindra & Mahindra, UltraTech Cement, Adani Ports, Titan, and Bajaj Finance were among the major laggards.

On the other hand, State Bank of India, Tech Mahindra, Axis Bank, and Asian Paints performed well. Brent crude prices rose 1.24% to $90.01 per barrel, affecting market sentiment.
