Indian Markets Fall Amid US-Iran Tensions and Crude Price Surge
The Indian stock market declined on Wednesday due to the US-Iran strikes and rising crude oil prices.
The BSE Sensex fell by 373.93 points, or 0.49%, to close at 76,570.35, while the Nifty 50 dropped by 141.35 points, or 0.59%, to finish at 23,914.45.
Vinod Nair, Head of Research at Geojit Investments Limited, noted that geopolitical tensions and the global bond sell-off had weighed heavily on investor sentiment.
However, the market managed to recover from its early lows as buying emerged in select banking, oil and gas, and large-cap stocks.
