Indian Markets Open Lower Amid Rising Oil Prices and Middle East Tensions
The Indian stock market opened lower on Monday amid concerns over rising crude oil prices and Middle East tensions.
The Sensex dropped by 133.78 points, or 0.17 per cent, to open at 77,130.73, while the Nifty fell by 58.10 points, or 0.24 per cent, to 24,117.55.
Rising oil prices added another layer of concern for Indian investors, with Brent crude moving above the $90-a-barrel mark after renewed tensions between the US and Iran.
The developments led to a broad-based decline in various sectors, including metal, technology, media, PSU Bank, and realty stocks.
