Indian Markets Poised for Positive Opening on Crude Oil Price Slump

The Indian markets are expected to open on a positive note today, driven by a sharp decline in crude oil prices. Brent crude futures have fallen 2.22% and are trading around $86.61 per barrel. This has provided a boost to the global economy, which is reflected in the GIFT Nifty's upward movement, indicating a higher start for Indian markets.

The previous day saw the Nifty 50 closing at 24,335, up 0.48%, and the BSE Sensex closing at 77,656, up 0.37%. The US stock market also closed on a higher note, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average gaining 160.24 points to close at 53,577.40.

The fall in crude oil prices is attributed to eased concerns over an immediate US-Iran escalation, prompting traders to unwind part of the geopolitical risk premium. The West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures have fallen 2% and are trading at $80.72 per barrel.
