Indian Stock Market Bounces Back Amid Easing Crude Oil Prices and Hopes of Conflict De-escalation
The Indian stock market rebounded on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, as crude oil prices eased below $100 per barrel and hopes of a possible de-escalation in the West Asia conflict grew.
The benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty rose 299.17 points and 117.80 points respectively to close at 74,828.25 and 23,446.80. Among the Sensex firms, Tata Steel, Bajaj Finance, ITC, UltraTech Cement, Power Grid, and Larsen & Toubro were major winners.
However, HCLTech, Infosys, Tata Consultancy Services, Titan, and Mahindra & Mahindra lagged behind. Brent crude, the global oil benchmark, edged up 0.35% to $99.60 per barrel.
