Indian Stock Market Plummets Over 630 Points Amid Rising Crude Oil Prices
The Indian stock market took a hit on Thursday morning due to rising crude oil prices and global market weakness. The BSE Sensex fell by 632.68 points to 74,189.55 in early trading, while the NSE Nifty dropped by 216.15 points to 23,222.55.
Bajaj Finance and Bajaj Finserv were among the major losers on the Sensex, falling 4.75% and 3.49%, respectively. Other stocks such as Axis Bank, InterGlobe Aviation, Kotak Mahindra Bank, and HDFC Bank also traded lower.
However, some stocks like Tech Mahindra, Sun Pharma, HCL Technologies, ICICI Bank, and Tata Consultancy Services managed to show gains. The global markets were under pressure as well, with mixed trends across Asian markets.
