Indian Stock Market Rebounds as Crude Oil Prices Ease
The Indian stock market rebounded in early trade on Wednesday as crude oil prices eased. The benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty rose, with the BSE Sensex increasing by 283.66 points to 74,812.74 and the NSE Nifty gaining 85.55 points to 23,414.55.
Among the winners were Bajaj Finance, Bajaj Finserv, Tata Steel, UltraTech Cement, Larsen & Toubro, and Asian Paints. However, Tata Consultancy Services, Infosys, HDFC Bank, and Mahindra & Mahindra lagged behind.
The moderation in crude prices provided some relief for India's macroeconomic situation, particularly with its dependence on imported energy. Brent crude, the global oil benchmark, traded 0.97% lower at USD 98.29 per barrel.
