Stock markets in India opened higher on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, due to lower crude oil prices and easing geopolitical worries in West Asia.
The benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty surged in early trade, with the former climbing 152.7 points to 76,988.48 and the latter rising by 44.95 points to 24,040.90.
IT stocks saw significant buying activity, supporting the positive trend in the markets.
The Sensex pack saw major gainers like Tech Mahindra, Tata Consultancy Services, Infosys, HCL Tech, Hindustan Unilever and Eternal, while Bharat Electronics, NTPC, Power Grid and State Bank of India lagged behind.
