Indian Stock Markets Rebound but Ultimately Decline Amid Crude Price Volatility
Indian stock markets experienced significant volatility on Friday due to elevated crude oil prices and rising US bond yields.
The Sensex and Nifty, key benchmark indices, saw a mixed performance throughout the day. Initially, they rebounded in early trade after sharp losses the previous session, but later trended down. The 30-share BSE Sensex climbed 86 points to 73,672.98 in early trade, while the 50-share NSE Nifty was up 18.80 points to 23,080.45.
However, the market benchmark indices eventually turned negative, with the BSE Sensex quoting 12.95 points down at 73,568.22 and the Nifty dipping 16.75 points to trade at 23,049.40.
Larsen & Toubro, Axis Bank, and Mahindra & Mahindra emerged as major winners among the 30 Sensex firms, while Infosys, Tata Consultancy Services, Tech Mahindra, and NTPC lagged behind.
