Indian Stocks Slip for Second Session Amid Oil Price Concerns
Indian stocks fell for a second consecutive session on Tuesday due to elevated crude oil prices and volatility in global bond yields. The Sensex declined by 242.65 points, or 0.33%, to close at 72,529.07, while the Nifty dropped 64.05 points, or 0.28%, to end at 22,716.20.
Selling pressure was evident across large-cap stocks, with Titan Company emerging as the biggest loser on the Nifty. The information technology sector also remained weak, with Wipro and HCLTech among the major drags on the benchmark.
The broader market also came under pressure as investors reduced exposure to mid- and small-cap stocks. The Nifty MidCap index fell 0.99%, while the Nifty SmallCap index dropped 0.81%.
