Indian Stocks Tumble Amid Escalating Middle East Tensions
The Indian stock market is set to start on a negative note due to escalating tensions in the Middle East, which have driven up crude oil prices. Global markets were mixed, with US stock futures rising slightly higher. The GIFT Nifty was trading near 23,321 against the Nifty's previous close of 23,346.40.
According to Hariselvan Radhakrishnan, Founder & CEO of HST Wealth, Indian equities are likely to open on a flat-to-negative note due to global cues remaining cautiously supportive and Brent crude's retreat to around $102 a barrel offering some relief.
The Sensex fell 0.65% to end at 74,294.46, while the Nifty declined 0.22% to settle at 23,346.40 last week. The broader midcap and smallcap indices remained largely flat after a volatile week.
