Indian Stocks Tumble Amid Middle East Tensions and Crude Oil Price Surge
Indian equity benchmarks Sensex and Nifty started the week on a cautious note due to escalating Middle East tensions, a packed IPO calendar, and higher crude oil prices.
The Sensex opened 69.38 points lower at 76,446.05, while the Nifty 50 slipped 14.55 points to 23,883.15.
The IT and media sectors were among the worst performers, with the Nifty Media index dropping 1.26% and the Nifty IT index declining 1.15%
Eleven mainboard IPOs are scheduled to hit the primary market this week, raising concerns about liquidity absorption and diverting investor attention.
