Gold and silver prices have risen in India on September 8, according to the latest rates from the India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA). The price of 24-carat gold has increased by Rs 606 to Rs 1.53 lakh per 10 grams, while silver gained Rs 2,406, taking its price to Rs 2.34 lakh per kg.

The IBJA publishes benchmark rates for different grades of gold and silver, which are widely used as a reference in India's bullion and jewellery markets.

Gold has recorded a substantial increase compared with its price at the end of 2025, gaining about Rs 19,000 so far this year. Silver, meanwhile, was priced at around Rs 2.30 lakh per kg on December 31, 2025, and its latest price represents an increase of about Rs 4,000 over that level.

The prices of gold can vary from one city to another due to factors such as transportation costs, local demand, and existing stock.
