India's Gold Prices Hold Steady Amid Global Economic Influences
Gold prices in India remained largely stable on August 2, as global economic indicators and US rate expectations continued to influence bullion market sentiment.
The retail market for gold is dominated by two popular purities: 24-karat and 22-karat. While 24-karat gold is the purest form of the precious metal, 22-karat gold remains the preferred choice for jewelry due to its improved strength and durability.
According to current rates, Delhi sees 24-karat gold priced at ₹1,44,370 per 10 grams, while Mumbai has it priced at ₹1,44,220. Bengaluru and Kolkata both see 24-karat gold priced at ₹1,44,370 per 10 grams.
Silver prices also remained largely steady on August 2, mirroring the cautious trend seen in the broader precious metals market. Retail silver rates continued to track movements in international bullion prices, the rupee's performance against the US dollar, and expectations around US interest rates.
