India's Gold Prices Plummet by Rs 2,800 Amid Global Weakness
Gold prices in India plummeted on Thursday, ending a seven-session rally. The precious metal fell by Rs 2,800 to Rs 1,57,000 per 10 grams in New Delhi's national capital.
The weak trend in global bullion markets contributed to the sharp decline. Spot gold was trading 0.43% lower at USD 4,389.67 per ounce internationally.
Silver also faced a significant sell-off, tumbling Rs 6,000 to Rs 2,40,000 per kilogram. Traders cited the weakness in overseas markets as the reason for the sharp decline in domestic prices.
