India's Green Energy Corridor Gets $23 Billion Boost Amid Wheat MSP Hike
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has welcomed the Union Cabinet's approval of the Green Energy Corridor Phase-III scheme, which will enhance power grids across states and UTs. The project aims to evacuate 135 GW of renewable energy, with a focus on battery storage. This move is expected to create jobs in manufacturing, construction, and energy storage.
The cabinet also approved an increase in the minimum support price (MSP) for wheat by Rs 25 per quintal to Rs 2,610 per quintal for the 2027-28 rabi marketing year. Additionally, MSPs for pulses and oilseeds have been increased by up to Rs 675 per quintal.
Modi emphasized that this move will benefit millions of farmers in the country, ensuring they receive a remunerative price for their produce. The government has approved an increase in MSP for rabi crops for the 2027-28 marketing season, reflecting its commitment to protecting farmer interests and increasing their income.
