India's LNG Imports Soar Amid US Supplies, West Asia Crisis

India's imports of liquefied natural gas (LNG) have increased by 24% to $5.6 billion during April-July this year, compared to the same period last year.

The country has diversified its LNG sources from six countries to 15, including the US, which has become a significant supplier amid disruptions in West Asia.

According to Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas data, India's LNG imports from the US increased by 9.1% to $1.2 billion in July this year, with import volumes rising 1.5% to 2,915 million standard cubic meters.
