India's LPG Supply Remains Stable Amid West Asia Crisis Disruptions

The Indian government has reported that domestic LPG supply is stable across the country, despite disruptions caused by the West Asia crisis. According to Secretary in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Sujata Sharma, no dry-outs have been reported at distributorships.

The government has taken several steps to manage the situation effectively, including increasing domestic LPG production, extending booking periods for both urban and rural areas, and implementing a delivery authentication code to prevent diversion. The usage of the delivery authentication code (DAC) has already reached 92%, exceeding the target of 90%.

In related news, Indian-flagged crude tanker Deshgarima safely crossed the Strait of Hormuz on August 18, carrying over 97 thousand metric tons of crude oil. However, two Indian vessels reported a firing incident while traversing the strait and returning to the Persian Gulf, but no injuries were reported.

The Ministry of External Affairs is closely monitoring developments in the region and has assured that the safety, security, and welfare of the Indian community are their top priority.
