Indonesian Gold Prices Plummet to Rp2.574 Million per Gram Amid Global Market Pressure
The price of gold in Indonesia dropped to Rp2,574,000 per gram on October 3, 2026, down from Rp2,576,000 the day before, according to PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (Antam). This decrease marks the continuation of a correction in Antam's gold prices over the past few days. On September 30, 2026, the price was at Rp2,595,000 per gram.
The global gold market is also facing pressure, with spot gold prices falling by about 0.9 percent to US$4,140.06 per troy ounce on October 2, 2026. The high yield of US government bonds and the strengthening of the US dollar are contributing factors to the decline in gold prices.
Bybit Chief Market Analyst Han Tan commented that 'gold bugs are perhaps refusing to get carried away for the time being', describing the cautious stance of market participants toward the outlook for gold. The spread between Antam's selling price and buyback price is approximately Rp194,000, making gold more suitable as a store of value for medium to long-term investments rather than short-term gains.
