Indonesia's Antam Gold Price Collapse Leaves Low-Income Workers Scrambling

The price of Antam gold bullion has plummeted to Rp2.65 million per gram in Indonesia, affecting workers who earn Jakarta's provincial minimum wage.

With a monthly salary of Rp5.7 million, these workers can now only afford two grams of gold, leaving them with around Rp400,000 to Rp500,000 in their wallets.

The price drop is attributed to the decline in selling prices across distribution channels, including Pegadaian outlets and online transactions through the Pegadaian Digital app.
