Indonesia's Oil Production Lags State Budget Target
Indonesia's Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) reported that the country's average crude oil production was 578,156 barrels per day as of July 31. This figure fell short of the state budget target of 610,000 bpd.
The director general of Oil and Gas, Laode Sulaeman, attributed the lower production to operational constraints such as a gas pipeline leak in Sumatra that disrupted operations at the Rokan Block. Disruptions to the power system also affected the block's operations.
To address the issues, the ESDM Ministry is working to ensure the affected power plants can resume operations quickly. This move aims to help optimize oil production from the Rokan Block, which had previously suffered potential losses of around 2 million barrels due to the gas pipeline leak.
