Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) has invited bids for a five-year contract to transport packed LPG cylinders from Sri Vijaya Puram Bottling Plant to distributors and extension counters across the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

The estimated value of the tender is ₹58.90 crore, and it will cover transportation to the far-flung islands of the Union Territory under a transparent two-bid system with reverse auction.

The decision comes after disruptions in shipping schedules occasionally affected LPG supply to several remote islands, causing inconvenience to residents.

IOCL officials said that due to these issues, they have decided to hire a dedicated vessel to resolve the long-pending demand and ensure uninterrupted LPG supply to the islands.
