Trump Orders New Strikes on Iran Amid Escalating Conflict
U.S. President Donald Trump has ordered new strikes on Iran as early as this weekend, according to The Wall Street Journal.
The goal of the possible strikes is to increase pressure on Tehran to force it to make concessions, the WSJ reported, citing unnamed U.S. officials.
Trump expressed doubts about continuing negotiations with Iran during a Cabinet meeting and threatened the use of force in response to the attack on a U.S. military base in Jordan.
The U.S. is also considering strikes on Iran's energy infrastructure, including oil refineries and power plants, CBS News reported.
