Iran Accused of Attacking Third ADNOC Oil Tanker in Strait of Hormuz

The United Arab Emirates has condemned Iran for attacking another state-owned oil tanker in the Strait of Hormuz. This marks the third such incident in a week, according to UAE officials. The ADNOC vessel was struck on Friday, but no injuries were reported. Reuters confirmed that the situation is under control. The UAE's Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that this attack constitutes a flagrant violation of UN Security Council resolution 2817, which affirms the importance of freedom of navigation and rejects targeting commercial vessels or obstructing international maritime routes. Anwar Gargash, advisor to UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, stated on social media that the country will defend itself in light of continued attacks. He emphasized that repeated targeting of ADNOC company tankers will not deter the UAE from pursuing a balanced policy based on deterrence, diplomacy, and adherence to international law.
