Iran and Armenia are strengthening their energy partnership by forming a joint working group focused on gas trade. According to Iranian Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad, this initiative aims to expand bilateral trade, export technical services, construct refineries, and supply petroleum products to Armenia.

Paknejad stated that the existing arrangement between the two countries is based on a gas-for-electricity swap, but Iran has proposed a new commercial framework for increased natural gas exports. This move is intended to facilitate the evaluation of concrete outcomes during their next round of bilateral talks.
