Iran's Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad has stepped down from his position. The resignation was reported by Report.az via the Tasnim news agency and has been formally accepted by Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.

Following Paknejad’s departure, Hamid Bovard, the head of the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC), has been appointed as the acting head of the Oil Ministry. This transition was formalized through an order signed by President Pezeshkian.

The announcement did not specify the reasons behind Paknejad’s resignation, leaving the motive unclear. The move, however, signals a change in leadership within Iran’s crucial oil sector.
