Iran, Armenia Joint Energy Working Group Agreed Upon Amid Stronger Bilateral Ties
Iran and Armenia have agreed to establish a joint working group focused on energy cooperation, including gas trade. Iranian Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad announced this following a meeting with Armenian Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Davit Khudatyan in Tehran.
The existing partnership between the two countries is based on a gas-for-electricity swap arrangement, but Iran has proposed a new commercial framework to expand natural gas exports. The Iranian oil minister emphasized his country's readiness to strengthen cooperation with Armenia within its technical and economic capabilities.
