Iran Claims Strait of Hormuz Tanker Strike as Thousands Rally in Tehran

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps has claimed to have struck an oil tanker, the Togo-flagged Trend, in the Strait of Hormuz after it allegedly attempted to transit the waterway without authorization. The incident occurred on Thursday night, according to Iran's state broadcaster.

The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations also reported that another tanker was struck by an 'unknown projectile' while transiting out of the strait on Wednesday, but no further details were provided about this incident or the fate of the crew.

Meanwhile, hundreds of thousands of people rallied in Tehran, the capital of Iran, in support of the government and against the US and Israel's attacks in February. The protesters chanted 'Death to America' and 'Death to Israel', and some trampled flags of the two countries.
