Iran Claims Strike on Oil Tanker in Strait of Hormuz Amid Tensions
Iran's Revolutionary Guards claimed responsibility for striking an oil tanker in the Strait of Hormuz on Thursday, according to state-run news agency IRNA.
The Togo-flagged vessel Trend was targeted and detained after a fire broke out on board, with the IRGC describing its movement as an 'illegal passage'.
A British maritime agency separately reported an attack on a vessel in the strategic waterway, stating that a ship had been struck by an 'unknown projectile', resulting in a fire that was later extinguished.
