Iran Cuts Gas Supplies to Turkey After Israeli Strike

Azerbaijan has emerged as Turkey's potential lifeline for natural gas supplies after Iran suspended its exports following an Israeli strike on the South Pars gas field.

The Iranian government announced that it had halted gas shipments to Turkey, which accounted for 14 percent of its imports in 2025. The suspension comes after Israel struck several facilities at the South Pars field last week.

Turkey is currently relying on supplies from Russia and Azerbaijan, as well as its own reserves. It remains unclear when Iranian gas exports will resume.
