The CEO of the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC), Hamid Bord, has rejected US President Donald Trump's claim that Kharg Island has been destroyed. The island's oil facilities and infrastructure have indeed faced attacks in the past, but operations continue without interruption, Bord said.

Bord emphasized that conditions on Kharg remain calm and stable, contradicting Trump's recent remarks. He cited ongoing construction and technical work on the island, including rehabilitation and modernization projects on storage tanks, which are around 20-30 percent complete.

Trump had shared an AI-generated video of oil facilities amid explosions and flames, claiming Kharg Island was being 'blown to smithereens'. The NIOC chief's comments came as tensions between Iran and the US continue to escalate in the region.
