The CEO of Iran's National Iranian Oil Company, Hamid Bovard, has denied claims that the Kharg Island oil hub was being destroyed. The denial comes after a US President Donald Trump AI-generated video showed the island 'being blown to smithereens.'

Bovard stated that Trump's tweets are 'laughable' and that conditions on the island remain calm and appropriate. He added that despite repeated attacks by the US and Israel, oil workers have continued operations without interruption.

The Kharg Island is a key hub for Iranian oil exports, with the majority of its crude originating from there. Bovard noted that contractors are currently rebuilding and modernizing storage tanks and jetties on the island.
