Iran Denies Kharg Island Oil Operations Halted Amid Trump's 'Laughable' Claims
Iran's National Iranian Oil Company has denied reports that oil operations at Kharg Island have been halted following a recent attack. According to CEO Hamid Bovard, conditions on the island are 'calm and appropriate', despite repeated bombings by US and Israeli forces in the past. In fact, oil workers have allowed operations to continue uninterrupted, even when faced with such attacks.
Bovard also noted that contractors are currently rebuilding and modernising storage tanks and jetties at the key oil hub, from which 90% of Iranian oil exports originate.
US President Donald Trump had earlier taken to social media to claim that the island was being destroyed, but Iran has dismissed these claims as 'laughable'.
