Iran Discovers Vast Gas Reserves Amid Ongoing Sanctions Struggle
Iran's Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad announced on Sunday that his country has discovered over 7.5 trillion cubic feet of gas in a field located in the south of Fars Province. This new discovery is significant, as it could potentially meet part of Iran's energy needs and reduce its reliance on imports.
Paknejad stated that with an estimated recovery ratio, around 5,700 billion cubic feet of gas can be extracted from this field. This translates to a substantial increase in Iran's natural gas production capacity.
The country has been carrying out repairs to its energy infrastructure damaged during the war with Israel and the United States. These sanctions are set to put further strain on Iran's economy, which is already struggling to recover.
