Iran Expands Grain Storage and Re-Export Capacity with New Facility in Bandar Abbas
A new grain storage facility has been commissioned in Bandar Abbas, Iran's major port city. The facility, which has a capacity of 70 thousand tons, is expected to expand the country's grain storage and re-export capabilities.
The Iranian government plans to utilize the existing surplus grain storage and processing capacity by importing grain from countries such as Russia and Kazakhstan. The imported grain will be processed into flour and other value-added products before being exported to neighboring countries and African markets.
Iranian Agriculture Minister Gholamreza Nouri stated that the country's existing grain storage and flour milling capacity already exceeds domestic demand, making it essential to make greater use of this surplus capacity to increase exports and improve processing efficiency.
