Iran Exports Record-Breaking $18B in Oil During US War and Ceasefire

Iranian Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad announced that his country exported $18 billion worth of oil during the war with the United States and subsequent ceasefire period. This achievement is all the more impressive considering that Iran maintained its production levels throughout.

Paknejad noted that during the conflict, Iranian authorities sold $11.5 billion worth of oil, while another $6.5 billion was generated during the ceasefire period. This allowed them to secure over 60% of the planned oil revenues in their annual budget.

The minister attributed this success to the country's ability to sell its accumulated reserves of crude oil and gas condensate, which stood at about 100 million barrels before the conflict began. The temporary reduction in risks for oil tanker movement also enabled Iran to significantly increase its exports and bring a substantial part of these reserves to global markets.

Paknejad's statements provide insight into Iran's ability to navigate the complex and volatile international energy landscape, even during times of heightened tension with major powers such as the United States.
