Iran Generates $18 Billion in Oil Revenue Amid Conflict with US and Israel
Iran's oil minister, Mohsen Paknejad, announced that Iran generated $18 billion in revenue from oil sales during its conflict and subsequent ceasefire with the US and Israel. This figure represents over 60% of the projected annual national budget.
The revenue was earned during two distinct operational periods: the active war phase and the ceasefire phase. During the active war phase, which lasted from February 28 to April 7, Iran earned $11.5 billion. After the ceasefire took effect on April 7, Iran continued to export oil, earning an additional $6.5 billion.
Paknejad attributed the success of these exports to reduced maritime risks and improved safety conditions that allowed Iran to offload its accumulated crude oil and gas condensate reserves. He also mentioned that alternative export channels and major buyers, primarily China, maintained steady demand for Iranian energy.
