Iran Issues Threats Amid Escalating Tensions with US

Iran has issued a stern warning to the US, stating that it will respond more aggressively to any attack on its interests and security. According to Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, any attack would receive a 'faster, heavier, and more painful' response.

The warning comes as tensions between Iran and the US have escalated in recent days. On Saturday, US Central Command said it struck three Iranian tankers after Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps launched ballistic missiles at two US Navy ships.

The Strait of Hormuz is set to become a restricted zone, with vessels entering the area potentially facing sanctions. The move aims to disrupt oil exports and further strain the already struggling Iranian economy.

US equity futures have traded lower in response to rising oil prices, which reached $96.79 per barrel for Brent crude. The US dollar index also rose 0.04% to 99.196.
