Iran Keeps Oil Flowing to China Despite US Sanctions

Iran's oil sales to China have continued unabated despite Washington's intensified economic war against Tehran. According to data from Kpler, an industry provider of such information, China has received approximately 1.2 million barrels of Iranian oil per day so far this year, a figure only slightly less than the same period last year.

Muyu Xu, a senior analyst at Kpler, notes that large quantities of Iranian oil are currently sitting on ships and in storage tanks near the Malacca Strait and the South China Sea. Due to increased efforts by shipping companies to evade detection, exact volumes are difficult to measure, he said.

Iran's Oil Minister, Mohsen Paknejad, stated that despite recent US-led blockades, crude oil sales and deliveries have continued uninterrupted outside Iranian territorial waters. He declined to provide further details, citing concerns about potentially aiding the enemy.
