Iran Offers Seven-Day Plan to Reopen Strait of Hormuz Amid Trump-Xi Discussions

Iran has proposed a seven-day plan to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and end hostilities in the region, as US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping discuss ways to resolve the conflict.

The proposal, which was sent to Washington through Qatar, calls for Iran to reopen the strait and halt its military actions across the region, including in Lebanon. In return, Tehran wants the US blockade on Iranian ports lifted, frozen Iranian funds released, and oil sanctions waived.

A US official confirmed that Washington is engaged in 'positive and constructive discussions' through mediators, but emphasized that nuclear issues remain a key part of the talks.

Xi Jinping has urged the US and Iran to return to a June framework agreement, which had led to a temporary ceasefire. However, a senior Iranian official stated that Tehran will not compromise on its nuclear program, even if the US accepts the proposal.
