Iran Oil Minister Steps Down Amid Ongoing Crisis
Iran's Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad has resigned due to personal reasons, according to President Pezeshkian's office.
The resignation comes as Iran faces long queues at petrol stations caused by ongoing war and US sanctions.
Mehdi Tabatabaei, the government spokesperson, stated that Paknejad's resignation was for 'personal reasons a long time ago.'
Paknejad had been in his position since August 2024. He will be replaced by Hamid Bord, the CEO of the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC).
