Iran Permits Iraqi Oil Tankers through Strait of Hormuz Amid Regional Conflict
The Strait of Hormuz has seen increased disruptions due to regional conflict, but Iran has granted permission for several Iraqi oil tankers to pass through it.
This decision comes after repeated requests from Baghdad, which lacks its own national tanker fleet and relies heavily on foreign vessels to transport its oil exports.
Iraqi President Nizar Amidi stated that Iraq would be among the countries most affected by the conflict's escalation due to its economic interdependence with Iran and reliance on oil exports.
