Iran Replaces Oil Minister Amid Ongoing Blockade
The oil minister of Iran, Mohsen Paknejad, has resigned from his position and will be replaced by Hamid Bovard, the CEO of the National Iranian Oil Company. This move comes at a time when the country is facing a blockade on its oil exports imposed by the United States. According to a statement from the president's office, Paknejad initially offered his resignation due to personal issues but was asked to continue in his post.
However, after reconsidering his decision, President Masoud Pezeshkian accepted Paknejad's resignation and commended his efforts and sincere service. Bovard will take over as acting Minister of Oil until a permanent replacement is found.
