The Togo-flagged vessel, named 'Trend', was intercepted by Iranian forces on Thursday. This incident is the latest in a series of tensions between Iran and Western countries over maritime security in the region.
The US State Department announced that it will allow an Iranian delegation to attend the UN General Assembly in New York next week, despite ongoing diplomatic tensions. The delegation will be smaller than last year's and will face travel restrictions.
